Overview
Indesign is the new-kid-on-the-block
in the field of desktop publishing, and is destined to become the
leading choice for creative professionals working in press or printing.
This is an introductory course which takes clients through the basics
of using Indesign to create entire documents or brochures.
Prerequisites
Good practical knowledge of how to use a computer. You should be able to use a mouse to select, open and close files and folders. You need to be aware of the file storage areas, such as My documents, desktop and hard drive. You should know how to ‘copy’ and ‘paste’, minimise and maximise a window, the difference between ‘save’ and ‘save as’ and how to switch between one open application and another. If you are unfamiliar with these topics, you may be interested in our PC Basics course.
Objective
By the end of the course
the client will be able to set up a complex page comprising pictures
grapics, text and colours. Although the emphasis is on Indesign
the course covers related areas including preparing artwork for
print, colour theory.
