Overview
Quark Xpress is still
one of theleading choice for creative professionals working in press or
printing. This is an introductory course which takes clients through
the basics of designing with Quark Xpress through to being able
to create entire documents or brochures.
Prerequisites
Good practical knowledge of how to use a computer. You should be able to use a mouse to select, open and close files and folders. You need to be aware of the file storage areas, such as My documents, desktop and hard drive. You should know how to ‘copy’ and ‘paste’, minimise and maximise a window, the difference between ‘save’ and ‘save as’ and how to switch between one open application and another.

Objective
By the end of the course
the client will be able to set up a complex page comprising pictures
and text effects using the tools in Quark Xpress. The client will
also be shown how to set up and manage document styles which can
be applied several times. Although the emphasis is on Quark Xpress
the course covers related areas including preparing artwork for
print and collating files.
