Overview
An introduction to the essential tools and features available for the production of professional and stylish word-processed documents.

Prerequisites Good practical knowledge of how to use a computer. You should be able to use a mouse to select, open and close files and folders. You need to be aware of the file storage areas, such as My documents, desktop and hard drive. You should know how to ‘copy’ and ‘paste’, minimise and maximise a window, the difference between ‘save’ and ‘save as’ and how to switch between one open application and another If you are unfamiliar with these topics, you may be interested in our PC Basics: Introduction to Computing course.

Objective
To introduce you to word-processing. To develop and increase your confidence in using Word. To show you how the essential features of Word work. By the end of the course, you will be aware of the essential features of Word, you will be able to create and save documents more quickly andyou will be able to arrange and present written information clearly and professionally

Qualifications This course also provides the skills necessary to pass the ECDL Module 3 exam. ECDL is designed specifically for those who wish to gain a benchmark qualification in computing to enable them to develop their IT skills and enhance their career prospects..
